Larry Yon is Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer of B&C International, the oldest Black-owned global business strategy consulting firm in the United States. Larry joined B&C International in 2012 and previously served as the firm’s Chief Strategy Officer. He is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and problem solver focused on building ecosystems for business growth in North America and the Continent of Africa. He has worked closely with U.S. and African - governmental agencies, corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, industry associations, investors, influencers, and tribal leaders. His intuitive approach, global network and experience have been utilized to build brands, empower tomorrow’s industry pioneers, and realize the value of interconnectedness.
In his role, Larry is responsible for implementing internal strategy and overseeing client relationships. The deals he has played a lead role in identifying, negotiating, and closing have globally resulted in the creation of thousands of jobs and millions in revenue that continue to grow exponentially. Under his strategic direction, B&C engages in a diversity of project types across many industries and geographies. Larry is also Co-Founder of Cyber Alliance, a US-based technology firm with a Pan African digitalization focus and B-Direct™, a pioneering Board search company providing a platform to train and match US Black executives and entrepreneurs African non-executive Board Director and advisory board roles.
Larry’s philanthropic work is focused on improving the lives of all people. He has served on the Board of Commissioners for Durham Housing Authority, the Board of Visitors for the School of Business at North Carolina Central University, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of UDI Community Development Corporation, one of the oldest CDCs in the United States, the Advisory Boards of Dream Academy (Botswana) and the East African Chamber of Commerce (EACC), is a Portfolio Advisor for South African V.C. – Launch Africa.
With a breadth and depth of practical experience solving problems in various industries, he has contributed or features speaker and panellists for N.C. State University, the City of Raleigh, the U.S. Department of Commerce, MBDA – MED Week, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He has also written thought pieces on transatlantic business growth, sustainability, and diversity, equity, and inclusion for the U.S. Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, N.C. Sustainable Energy Association (NCSEA) and Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA).
Larry earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from North Carolina Central University with independent course work at Duke University’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School’s Construction Executive Management Program.
